Movable Type で生成されるファイルを .php にしようとして気が付きました。フォルダのパーミッションが 777 だと、SAKURA サーバーではその中にある CGI / PHP の類がエラーとなります。恐らく、セキュリティ上の設定なんだと思われます。詳細はオンラインマニュアルの 『◎ CGI・PHPの設置に関わるサーバ情報一覧』 を参照。
ちなみに、Movable Type は公開用ファイルを置くフォルダの作成時、フォルダ・パーミッションも 777 で設定してしまいます。これを解決するために、mt-config.cgi に下記のように書くと生成されるパーミッションを変更できます。
